§ 01Shape story

The Kimbo started as a step-up gun for winter swells — an 8'0 with a pulled outline and enough volume to sit through long lulls. Over a few seasons it pulled in toward the body of the catalogue, settling around 7'0 as a punchy-day twin that keeps drive in size while staying playful at head-high. The favourite when the swell shows up unexpectedly.

Locked, fast, drawn. Holds the upper-third when the wave wants to pitch you.

Named after Jeff's English Mastiff. Built for the days that bite back.
Head-high to triple-overhead. Reefs, points, outer banks.

§ 04Construction

Every tier uses the same outline files. The price difference is the hand on the foam, not the geometry.

Hand-shaped

×1.00 base

Signed by Jeff

Foam to gloss in the McCallum bay.

Foam blank, hand-tools, no machine. Shaped, glassed, sanded and signed under the same roof. The most expensive way to make a board, and — for some shapes — the only way they actually feel right.

Lead time
1014 wks
For
Surfers who want the original, with all the marks the hand leaves behind.

Slightly less consistent dimension to dimension than CNC. That is the point.

Computer-cut

×0.78 base

Stamped, not signed

CNC-roughed in the McCallum file, finished by hand.

The blank is rough-cut by a CNC machine from a McCallum scan, then finished, glassed and detailed by the bay. Lower cost, near-perfect dimensions, hand finish on the rails and tail.

Lead time
69 wks
For
Surfers who want McCallum geometry without the hand-shaping premium.

Reads cleaner than a hand-shape. Same outline, slightly different soul.

§ 05Common questions
Why is one option greyed out?
Because that combination doesn't exist as a McCallum shape. Hover the option to see why — usually it's a fin setup that doesn't match the tail, or a tier that the model isn't built in.
Can I save my configuration?
Yes — every configuration has its own URL. Save the link, share it with a friend, or email it to the bay. We can pick it up from there.
Is the price final?
It is an estimate. The total locks when the bay confirms feasibility — usually within 48h of submission. You only pay once it's locked.
